Digital for All: Covid-19 Response

LA Tech4Good has launched a Digital for All campaign as our response to the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to frame the vision of a new normal where digital access and adoption are universal. Let’s make sure we come out the other side of the pandemic with closer digital connection and not a sharper divide.

Education and healthcare are two Covid-19 fault lines that are closely knit with technology. Below are four organizations who are doing incredible work – alongside many more efforts across the country. We invite you to explore their missions and support where you can. All are working to meet urgent needs during this Covid-19 crisis. We know that resources are tight for all of us, including for deserving nonprofits; we urge you to stretch and to give to this fund (donations will be split evenly among the four organizations). We also hope you will consider actively joining this campaign as we seek to build the hashtag #DigitalForAll for a New Normal.

EveryoneOn is a national leader in facilitating internet access for low-income families. Your donation will support their Los Angeles-based efforts to ensure families, especially those with kids engaging in distance learning, are connected to the internet. A donation of $11 gives home internet access to a household for a month, and $125 for a full year.

myCovidMD is operating pop-up drive-thru testing sites in South LA & Culver City and expanding across LA. Their $1M campaign will deliver 50K video-assisted telehealth screenings and 10K free tests through strong digital engagement. Your donation will help them launch their new myCovidMD Telehealth app; or volunteer with their testing.

human-I-T refurbishes and provides electronics free of charge to folks who are offline. Many students have been hit hard by school closures; human-I-T received requests for over 55,000 laptops in March and to date they've delivered 4,400 devices. Their goal is to raise $25,000 for 250 hotspots for low-income students over the next month.

LA Tech4Good brings tech and nonprofits together so we can solve problems. Facilitating cross-sector collaborations is our sweet spot and your support to this Digital for All campaign will help us do more of that.
